Request a literature search

A professional librarian can carry out literature searches on your behalf. The search results can be used for a variety of reasons including evidence-based practice, direct patient care and continuing professional development. Several databases are searched in order to provide good quality evidence-based results.

To request a literature search, please contact the library in the first instance on ext. 2223 to arrange a suitable appointment. We provide training on how to carry out an effective literature search on a particular topic.

We can also conduct on-off literature searches on your behalf (use this link to request a search).

The search results will be sent to you by email within 5 working days. The results will be a list of bibliographic references with abstracts, including full-text links where possible.

Please note this service is only available for members of staff at the North Middlesex University Hospital. It is not available for students on placement, although we can offer training and assistance with searching.
